Antre (pronounced ant-er) is an old english word for a cave or cavern.
Drawing on a wide
range of influences in particular black metal, death metal, thrash & hardcore to create an atmosphere which is more claustrophobic, savage and intense than ethereal, Antre is a representation of the inner dark place in all of us, the dark cave in our souls and the anger and rage that manifests itself there.

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album.

For a first release this is very good quality in recording and songwriting/ arrangements. Although it is not sticking out of other Blackgaze releases it is fun listening to it. It gets darker with every track which is a good development when listening to it. I would be interested how it could develop even 2 steps darker. Maybe on the LP. 6 out of 10 goats
